Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful stormwater infrastructure projects from concept through completion while collaborating with internal teams, developers, and the public.
The Engineer II or III level will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
What You’ll Do- Plan, design, review, and manage stormwater projects to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Review development and construction plans for stormwater management, drainage, erosion control, and water quality requirements
- Serve as the City’s lead representative for stormwater components of development projects, coordinating with engineers, developers, and multiple City departments
- Analyze engineering data and prepare technical reports, specifications, permits, cost estimates, and project documentation
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans and stormwater standards
- Respond to technical inquiries from contractors, staff, and the public with professionalism and clarity
- Assist with project tracking, invoicing, grant applications, and stormwater related policies and procedures
- Support or oversee staff, as applicable, including training and performance feedback at the Engineer III level
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development to stay current with stormwater best practices and regulations
- Experience in stormwater engineering, drainage design, or water resources related work
- Knowledge of stormwater regulations, permitting, and development review processes
- Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills
- Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple projects and deadlines

Required Qualifications- Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
- Engineer's II: minimum of two years of related, full‑time equivalent experience.
- Engineer's III: minimum of five years of related, full‑time equivalent experience.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
