An Assistant Civil Designer will assist in various phases of planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and preparation of construction documentation and environmental plans as part of a project team. This position will work on various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.

• Assist with a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
• Modeling & Drafting:
  Develop detailed Revit structural models and construction drawing sets (plans, sections, details).
• Engineering Support:
  Interpret sketches, markups, and design calculations provided by engineers to create accurate drawings.
• Coordination:
  Collaborate with project teams, architects, and engineers to identify and resolve BIM model conflicts.
• Standards Compliance:
  Apply company and industry standards (e.g., BIM standards) to all deliverables.
• Document Management:
  Assist with organizing project documents, such as transmittals, PDFs, and shop drawing sets.
• Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts.
• Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Software:
  Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD is generally required.
• Technical Knowledge:
  Understanding of structural components and construction documents.
• Basic understanding of design software such as:
  AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
• Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
• Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of civil discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.

• Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field and 2 years related experience required; OR
• Associate's Degree and 3 years related experience required; OR
• 4 years progressive detailing and design experience required.

• Minimum 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field; OR minimum 3 years of related experience with an Associate's Degree; OR 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.

• AutoCAD experience (a plus, not required per role summary)
• 2-year technical degree from a local technical school or bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience can substitute for formal education.

• Projects located across the U.S. (Florida to Washington state)
• Typically assigned 2 projects at a time, maximum of 3
• Position is not client-facing
• Relocation candidates can be considered at their own expense
