Standard: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday; 9/80 schedule available depending on workload (approximately 50% of the team uses the 9/80 option) - Travel Requirements:

An Assistant Civil Designer will assist in various phases of planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and preparation of construction documentation and environmental plans as part of a project team. This position will work on various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
- Modeling & Drafting:
Develop detailed Revit structural models and construction drawing sets (plans, sections, details). - Engineering Support:
Interpret sketches, markups, and design calculations provided by engineers to create accurate drawings. - Coordination:
Collaborate with project teams, architects, and engineers to identify and resolve BIM model conflicts. - Standards Compliance:
Apply company and industry standards (e.g., BIM standards) to all deliverables. - Document Management:
Assist with organizing project documents, such as transmittals, PDFs, and shop drawing sets. - Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts.
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Software:
Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD is generally required. - Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of structural components and construction documents. - Basic understanding of design software such as:
AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, and Excel to develop the design deliverables. - Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
- Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of civil discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field and 2 years related experience required; OR
- Associate's Degree and 3 years related experience required; OR
- 4 years progressive detailing and design experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field; OR minimum 3 years of related experience with an Associate's Degree; OR 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.
- AutoCAD experience (a plus, not required per role summary)
- 2-year technical degree from a local technical school or bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience can substitute for formal education.
Physical Requirements
- Projects located across the U.S. (Florida to Washington state)
- Typically assigned 2 projects at a time, maximum of 3
- Position is not client-facing
- Relocation candidates can be considered at their own expense
- Interview process:
