Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a CAD Technician (Grid Resiliency) for a leading energy client. This candidate will support critical grid modernization and resiliency initiatives aimed at improving power reliability and infrastructure performance. Working closely with engineering teams, this individual will utilize AutoCAD to assist in design and planning efforts across a variety of programs including grid reliability, voltage optimization, and intelligent grid systems.
The ideal candidate is technically inclined, eager to learn, and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment while contributing to impactful energy infrastructure projects.
- Support grid resiliency initiatives across multiple Dominion Energy programs
- Utilize AutoCAD to assist with utility design and grid planning documentation
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams on grid reliability improvements
- Contribute to projects such as Mainfeeder Hardening and Voltage Optimization
- Assist in analyzing and organizing technical data for grid modernization efforts
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks
- 1+ years of professional experience using AutoCAD
- If not, can be a good Comp Science or Coding background (good technological problem solving skills)
- Electrical Design focused background
