Civil Engineer III

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer III to support a long-term infrastructure and construction project in Chesapeake, VA. This role will lead engineering efforts across multiple concurrent projects, from early design review through final construction, while ensuring regulatory compliance, permitting, and engineering quality. The ideal candidate is a self-driven civil engineer with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience managing engineering reviews, permitting, and construction oversight.

Lead engineering design reviews for multiple active projects.

Manage local, state, and federal permitting activities from initiation through approval.

Review RFIs, submittals, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.

Provide engineering oversight during construction activities.

Ensure engineering designs meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.

Identify technical issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.

Improve engineering processes and implement best practices.

Independently make engineering decisions while providing technical guidance to project teams.

Minimum 5 years of relevant Civil Engineering experience.

Experience leading engineering activities on complex infrastructure or construction projects.

Strong knowledge of engineering design reviews, permitting, and construction support.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Onsite position (5 days per week).
