- Failure Analysis
Responsibilities
As a Contract Expert Witness Consultant, you may:
- Conduct forensic engineering investigations and site inspections
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Evaluate engineering design, installation, workmanship, and code compliance
- Determine applicable standards of care and identify technical deficiencies
- Prepare detailed expert reports and technical opinions
- Provide expert testimony during depositions, arbitration, mediation, and trial proceedings
- Communicate technical findings to attorneys, insurance carriers, contractors, developers, and property owners
- Collaborate with legal teams throughout the life of a case
- Travel throughout the United States as needed for inspections, meetings, depositions, and testimony
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly and objectively
- Experience with forensic engineering, construction defects, failure analysis, commissioning, or consulting is highly desirable
- Additional licenses, certifications, and professional credentials are a plus (CFI, CxA, LEED AP, ICC, NFPA certifications, ASHRAE certifications, etc.)
- Previous expert witness experience is welcomed but not required
- Must be able to travel as needed
