Senior Accounting Manager – Starting Salary $87,000 - $97,000 DOE/DOQ

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Accounting Manager to join its Finance team. This position is responsible for general ledger oversight, fiscal year-end closing, audit preparation, payroll compliance support, and administration of the organization’s governmental accounting system (GMS). The position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, governmental accounting standards, and internal control policies.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer and requires independent judgment, strong analytical skills, and a high degree of confidentiality. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to assist Finance Department staff with additional duties that may be assigned.

Resilience Outreach Specialist - Starting Salary $65,000 - $75,000 DOE/DOQ

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is seeking a candidate for the position of Resilience Outreach Specialist. The Resilience Outreach Specialist has knowledge of climate adaptation and coastal management issues and topics with proficiency in public engagement to support the HRPDC Coastal Resiliency Program in the areas of public outreach, education, and training on coastal resilience, floodplain management, and related issues.

The Coastal Resiliency Program identifies and implements regional priorities for research, analysis, and policy development on issues related to resiliency and climate adaptation to support local government planning and implementation efforts. The Resilience Outreach Specialist will coordinate efforts related to flood insurance promotion and flood risk education and outreach and will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing new resilience-related activities and programs.

Applicants must be able to develop and manage a comprehensive outreach and engagement program, including audience identification, development of outreach materials (including digital and print media), stakeholder and partner engagement, and program management.
