Position: Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $2,960 per week

American Traveler is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Chesapeake, Virginia (start date 03/16/2026). The role includes full 40‑hour weeks on a 10‑hour day shift schedule, Monday‑Thursday, with rotating call. First‑time travelers will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Work in an Interventional Radiology unit within a community hospital setting; teaching hospital experience preferred.
  • Perform procedures including abdominal/pelvic angioplasty, embolization, chest tube placement, genitourinary studies, gastrostomy, nephrostomy, percutaneous stone extraction, biliary drainage, renal/ureteral stent placement; neurological procedures such as carotid angiography, embolization, stent placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and vertebroplasty; vascular procedures like TIPS, carotid stenting, central venous access/port placement, dialysis graft creation/revision, fistulograms/declots, endovascular interventions, and upper/lower extremity angiography; venous access procedures including non‑tunneled central venous access, PICC lines, and port access/management.
  • Use Epic EMR (experience required) and PACS system.
  • Follow a day shift, 4×10‑hour schedule from 6:00 AM–4:30 PM or 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Thursday.
  • Participate in rotating call.
  • Setup and maintain equipment, monitor patients accurately, place EKG leads, prepare access sites, recognize life‑threatening arrhythmias, manage room circulation, scrub and maintain sterile field, use vascular closure systems (Perclose, Star Close).
  • Maintain inventory and supply stock.
  • Apply isolation precautions/PPE and coordinate with Rapid Response/Code teams as needed.
  • Meet 3 hours of required online modules prior to start date.
  • Facility located in Chesapeake, Virginia—minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures experience.
  • Valid Virginia or compact state license in hand at time of consideration (
    no exceptions
    ).
  • ARRT CI, BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
  • ARRT R required.
  • Epic EMR experience required.
  • Neurovascular experience preferred.
  • Must pass facility fit testing; PAPR not accommodated—all history of fit test issues disqualifies.
  • No prior license or background hits will be accepted.
  • PDF copies of driver’s license and Social Security card required.
  • Two professional references required.
