Summary
The Radiologic Technologist Assistant is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology Department and throughout the organization. All duties will be under the direct supervision of a Registered Technologist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- 1. Produce a variety of high-quality images through proper positioning and technique
- 2. Review patient’s chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
- 3. Follow department, ACR, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keeps exposure "ALARA"
- 4. Follow MRI safety guidelines
- 5. Transport patients as needed
- 6. Educate the patient and their family, as needed, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
- 7. Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
- 8. Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate supervisor
- 9. Perform procedures as the schedule requires and rotates call if needed
- 10. Reports to/has all images/scans checked by registered technologist before sending to PACS
- 11. Review supporting documents
- 12. Navigate EPIC as necessary (i.e. beginning exams, ending exams, ordering contrast, adding patient history, and any other assignments needed by registered technologist)
- 13. Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Minimum Required
Education:
Applicant must be a student of an accredited program in radiologic technology or MRI. The applicant must be in good standing (i.e. not on probation or remediation).
Experience:
The applicant must have completed the first year of Radiology Technical program at an accredited education institution.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be BLS certified within 1 month of employment.
Qualifications EducationPreferred
Technical/other training or better in Radiologic Technology.
