Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) role based in Chesapeake, VA. The CNA will assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, while promoting dignity and comfort. Daily responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs, monitoring and reporting changes in resident condition, and supporting nursing staff with clinical and non-clinical tasks. The CNA will help with mobility and transfers, maintain a clean and safe environment, and follow infection control and safety protocols.

The role also involves providing emotional support, engaging residents in appropriate activities, communicating effectively with families and interdisciplinary team members, and documenting care in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Virginia and compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Skills in providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Ability to accurately measure and document vital signs, observe and report changes in resident status, and follow care plans established by licensed nursing staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members, including the ability to show empathy and maintain professionalism.
  • Knowledge of basic infection control, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment and supplies in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and collaborate within an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, memory care, or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development in patient care.
