The Assistant Beverage Manager assists the Food & Beverage division in managing all restaurant outlet and banquet bars as successful independent profit centers and ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in consistency with Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and Hyatt Standards.
This role supports the Outlet Managers and Director of Banquet in overseeing daily bar operations, ensuring high-quality service, maintaining inventory, and achieving financial targets. The Assistant Beverage Manager's goal is to enhance guest satisfaction through excellent service, manage staff effectively, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
What You'll Do:- Collaborate with Outlet Managers and the Director of Banquets to curate seasonal cocktail menus
- Train servers and new bartenders on proper bar procedures, new spirits and cocktails.
- Follow recipes using proper and contemporary techniques.
Craft and create seasonal cocktail menus, and meet specific deadlines based on the role. - Create, prepare and maintain house-made syrups, shrubs, tinctures and bitters.
- Lead tasting and cocktail/spirit presentations to upper management and special groups.
- Menu maintenance and formatting.
- Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required.
- Creatively assists other outlets in special events, cocktail creation, and general education of new spirits on property.
- Help to create, adjust and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for bar staff, helping to achieve efficiency and top-quality output in their roles.
- Be able to meet deadlines on time.
- Learn the configuration of our POS system to update pricing for beverage and menu items.
- Show up on time to all meetings, events, and shifts.
- Ensure proper food handling and cleanliness practices are followed both behind the bar and in storage areas.
- Do any other task assigned by management

QualificationsCustomer service experience and front desk experience preferred.
High school/ Secondary school diploma or official equivalent. Additional training/certification(s) preferred. Ability to obtain TIPS, ALE (or equivalent certification in alcohol safety) and other related training required.
Minimum of 5 years' experience bartending, preferably in an upscale or fine dining environment. Preferred candidates would have at least 1-2 years of experience crafting and creating their own cocktails (with or without a portfolio).Ideal candidates will have at least one (2) years of bar supervisory experience.
