Software Tester/QA (Software QA/Tester)

In this position, you will work with a diverse community of experts, project leadership, and testing leadership to test IT‑based performance solutions across a range of software solutions including those implemented by containerization, web application, computer‑based training, data analytic solutions, interactive electronic technical manuals, and decision support systems. These solutions support a diverse range of Military, First Responder, and Government Civilian personnel across the Fleet and DoD workforce.

The primary worksite for this combined Government and Contractor team is at Webster Field in St. Inigoes, MD. As a core tester you may be leading testing and QA of functional, standards/architecture adherence, interface, failure‑mode behavior, integration, usability and infrastructure objectives for targeted projects and test events under the guidance of test leadership.

You will support testing across multiple concurrent solutions at various stages of maturity with a mix of common, tailored/extended, and unique components in each project. The ideal candidate will successfully support system‑level testing, system‑integration testing, user‑acceptance testing, multiple deployment‑environment testing, and migration toward applying automated test scripting/execution.

This position is best supported by someone who can work at NAWCAD WOLF’s Webster Field location and quickly be onsite at NAS Patuxent River, NSWC Indian Head, NAWCAD WOLF or Antech’s Lexington Park, MD office 1–2 days a week. Candidates within 80 miles of Lexington Park, MD, who can attest they can support this requirement will be given credit in assessing qualifications for their ability to meet this requirement.

This 1–2 days a week to one or more of these locations is not considered part of the non‑local travel requirement below.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical, QA, analytic or test discipline with at least 4 years’ experience, an associate’s degree in a relevant field with at least 6 years’ experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 9 years’ experience. A relevant professional certification in software or systems quality assurance/test such as ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) or Certified Software Tester (CSTE) may be substituted for 2 years of experience.

A master’s degree in a relevant discipline may be substituted for 2 years of experience. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and able to qualify for a Security Clearance; an active Security Clearance is a plus. The position may require non‑local travel approximately 10% of the time.
