Position

IT Specialist Cyber Security (Developmental)
Full‑Time NF‑03 permanent position with potential for non‑competitive conversion to NF‑04. Promotion to NF‑04 is based on technical achievement.

Responsibilities
  • Perform developmental assignments under closer than normal supervision, progressing to more complex tasks until the full‑performance level is reached.
  • Assist senior specialists with structured entry‑level work such as preparing reports, monitoring and auditing IT systems, and performing assessments of existing IT systems.
  • Provide occasional off‑hour support for change management and participate in on‑call duties.
  • Work independently, lead security projects, and collaborate with team members using strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or equivalent; 3 years of related experience; or high school diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience.
  • Active Security + certification.
  • DoW IT security experience and training.
  • Experience with incident response.
  • Ability to routinely lift 10 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of information security support for a comparable-sized organization.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS, NIST SP 800‑53/800‑53A/800‑37, FISMA, or similar cyber security frameworks.
  • Experience with evidence gathering and forensic analysis.
  • Familiarity with project management best practices.
