Fall Intern - IT Desktop Support Chesapeake

The City of Chesapeake is accepting applications for a Fall 2025 Internship in Information Technology (IT) providing IT customer service as an intern on our Desktop Support (CT) Team. The internship will provide valuable experience in the following areas:

• Provide In-Person and remote technical assistance to end users.
• Use the ITSM tool Service Now to document and track IT tickets.
• Set up new and existing hardware to include PXE imaging devices and installing software.
• Develop skills such as excellent IT customer service, attention to detail, affective communication, and local City Government organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

The IT Desktop Support Intern will be required to conduct a meeting and give a brief presentation on what was learned during the Internship.

Students participating in the Internship Program will be responsible for the following:

• Providing their own transportation to and from work,
• Arriving at the work site at the time designated by the worksite supervisor.
• Performing the tasks assigned by the vocational instructor/coordinator and the worksite supervisor in an efficient manner.
• Demonstrating honesty, punctuality, courtesy, a cooperative attitude, appropriate dress, and a willingness to learn.
• Conforming to the guidelines of the internship worksite.

Must be a college student in good academic standing who is majoring in, or a recent college graduate (i.e., within one year of graduation), in Information Technology or related fields.
