A well-established Property & Casualty insurance agency in Chesapeake is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Administrative Assistant to support our licensed insurance agents and help keep our office running smoothly.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with administrative experience who is interested in building a long-term career in the insurance industry . Previous insurance experience is not required . We are willing to train the right candidate and will help facilitate the process of obtaining a Property & Casualty insurance license .
You'll receive hands-on training, industry education, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement—all while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
As an Insurance Administrative Assistant, you'll provide day-to-day administrative and customer service support to our agents and clients.
Responsibilities include:
Answering and managing a busy phone line in a professional and friendly manner
Responding to customer emails and assisting with general service questions
Providing administrative support to licensed insurance agents
Maintaining accurate records and organizing agent reports
Processing reports, documents, and other insurance-related paperwork
Tracking documents and following up on outstanding information
Maintaining organized electronic and physical files
Making customer retention and follow-up calls
Assisting customers and helping direct their needs to the appropriate team member
Supporting general office operations and other administrative tasks as needed
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is reliable, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
Qualifications include:
Previous administrative or office experience
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Professional and confident phone presence
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on tasks
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Willingness to learn about the Property & Casualty insurance industry
