We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Managerpositionin Chesapeake Virginia !
Qualifications:- Must have a Bachelor’sdegree in a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with 10+ years of direct strategic sourcing experience
- Minimum5 years of experience in the marine and/or defense industry with vendor sourcing and management responsibilities
- Possess strong knowledge of U.S. government and defense shipbuilding supply chains
- Experience managing vendor and parts data within ERP systems (e.g.,Deltek Costpoint)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lead teams, solve complex problems, and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing and purchasing activities to meet company performance goals
- Identify, vet, qualify, and manage vendor relationships, including long-term agreements, subcontracts, and purchase orders
- Supervise and support a team of buyers, ensuring performance, accountability, and professional development
- Coordinate with Business Development, Program Management, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams to support sourcing strategies and mitigate vendor risks
- Collaborate with corporate supply chain teams on vendor selection, evaluation, and process development
- Review requisitions and purchase orders for accuracy in pricing and lead times prior to issuance
- Expedite materials and services to ensure timely delivery and operational support
- Maintain vendor performance metrics, records, and reporting (e.g., on-time delivery, open orders, small business reporting)
- Manage parts master data, including creation and maintenance within ERP systems
- Support vendor audits, compliance requirements, and resolution of non-conformities in coordination with QEHS
- Ensure adherence to export compliance policies and supply chain procedures
- 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
- $97,000 to $140,000/year based on experience
