Position SummaryThe Logistics Coordinator in the Customs Brokerage department is responsible for identifying and understanding customer transportation needs while ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant movement of freight and information. This role serves as a critical link between customers, transportation providers, government agencies, and the Expeditors network, coordinating customs clearance activities and transportation services to support uninterrupted supply chains. Success in this role requires a customer-focused mindset, strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, review, prepare, and process transportation, customs, and regulatory documentation, including house and master air waybills, commercial invoices, and customs entry documents.
- Prepare and submit customs entries while ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, customer requirements, and company procedures.
- Coordinate transportation orders, freight bookings, and shipment scheduling to ensure timely movement of freight.
- Monitor shipment status and customs clearances, proactively communicating updates and resolving issues with customers and service providers.
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain shipment and customs information in company operating systems.
- Dispatch freight in a timely manner to prevent disruptions within customers' supply chains.
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, airlines, trucking companies, customs authorities, and the global Expeditors network through email, phone, instant messaging, and in-person interactions.
- Review and monitor operational reports to understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support department objectives.
- Execute customer invoicing accurately according to customer SOPs, rate agreements, tariffs, and company procedures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, transportation providers, and other business partners.
- Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, government regulations, customs requirements, and customer-specific procedures.
- Meet or exceed established key performance indicators (KPIs) supporting departmental, branch, product, and company goals.
- Analyze challenges creatively, identify solutions, and take proactive action to resolve operational issues.
- Continuously seek process improvements and operational efficiencies within the department.
- Escalate issues, exceptions, and critical decisions to management according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Knowledge of customs brokerage, international transportation, freight forwarding, or global logistics operations.
- Understanding of import and export documentation requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capability to prioritize competing demands.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Fluent in English.

Expected base pay: $21.63 - $25.24 per hour
