As a Vice President, Sourcing & Product Development at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll lead the strategic vision, direction, and execution of our global sourcing, creative, and product development functions. You will build and manage an integrated organization responsible for delivering innovative, trend‑right, value‑driven products that support our multi‑price growth strategy. With your leadership, Dollar Tree will strengthen its private label portfolio, accelerate speed to market, enhance product quality, and drive profitable growth through disciplined sourcing and compelling product development.
StrategicLeadership & Business Alignment
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for creative sourcing, product development, and private label brand management aligned with long‑term growth objectives
- Drive transformation of product development processes to accelerate speed to market, improve quality, and increase margin productivity
- Partner closely with merchandising, marketing, and supply chain leadership to align product strategies with category goals and customer insights
- Establish scalable governance models that balance innovation with operational discipline
- Lead internal design and development teams to deliver unique, customer‑focused products across all major departments
- Oversee end‑to‑end concept‑to‑launch execution, including product design, material selection, packaging, quality assurance, and vendor collaboration
- Leverage trend analysis, consumer insights, and competitive benchmarking to identify new product opportunities that enhance customer engagement
- Manage external design agencies, artwork providers, creative partners, and innovation consultants to expand creative capacity and elevate design excellence
- Lead the company’s private label brand design and development architecture, ensuring a cohesive, customer‑centric portfolio across product lines
- Drive development of new brands, brand redesigns, packaging resets, and quality enhancements in close partnership with merchant leadership
- Establish brand governance standards, visual identity guidelines, and performance metrics to ensure consistency, value perception, and customer relevance
- Continuously improve product quality and brand positioning to strengthen customer loyalty
- Direct global sourcing strategies to ensure best‑in‑class vendor performance, cost transparency, ethical compliance, and risk mitigation
- Foster long‑term strategic supplier partnerships to secure reliable supply and innovation pipelines
- Lead initiatives to expand alternative country sourcing, support ESG goals, and reduce reliance on single‑market sourcing concentration
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Logistics teams to ensure product integrity, social responsibility, and on‑time delivery
- 15+ years of progressive experience in sourcing, product development, and/or private label management within a retail or consumer goods organization
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- Proven track record of developing and commercializing successful private label products at scale
- Deep understanding of global sourcing markets, manufacturing processes, and cost structures
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong creative sensibility combined with commercial acumen and operational rigor
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and executive leadership skills
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
- Experience leading sourcing or product development transformation initiatives
- Background in multi‑price retail or value‑driven retail models
