The City of Chesapeake is seeking a Payroll Assistant Manager to join the Finance team. This role oversees in-house payroll operations, ensures accuracy and regulatory compliance, and leads a payroll staff to deliver timely, correct wages and deductions.
The ideal candidate has an associate degree in accounting/finance, at least five years of payroll experience, and prefers CPP or FPC certification. Office hours are 8AM–5PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime for emergencies.
