Maintenance Trades Helper - Machinist Trainee
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Operate and maintain plasma burn tables, hand grinders, scrapers, and tape measures with proficiency.
- Perform tasks, including metal material stretching, layout processes, and plate cleaning and de-burring.
- Read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings, solving problems as needed.
- Operate CNC machinery with ability to download programs via disc, flash drive, or direct connect.
- Perform cuts and nesting activities as defined by production requirements.
- Build understanding of machining principles, assisting in operational efficiency and quality improvements.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and other heavy machinery to move and position materials.
- Perform daily equipment operational checks and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and deadlines.

- Knowledge of geometric dimensions, tolerances, and symbols.
- Strong math skills, including fractions and decimal calculations.
- Basic knowledge of computer operating systems (Windows OS).

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $21.25 - $28.75. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
