Tank Mechanic

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tank Mechanic for our Chesapeake, VA location.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

Pay Range: $20-22/hr

Role overview: Working on ISO Tank Containers by pressure testing tanks, draining and dry‑out the inside of the tank. Repair and replace tank container valves, gaskets and gauges.

• Pressure test, repair and replace valves, gaskets and gauges
• Drain tank and ensure it is dry
• Operate hoists, cranes, and precision measuring and testing instruments
• Observe and listen to mechanical devices to diagnose causes of mechanical issues
• Repair and replace defective parts, inspect and adjust used parts
• Lubricate and clean parts
• Operate lathe, drill press and grinders
• Use hand tools and power tools

• Candidates possess a mechanical background
• Possess good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Detail oriented
• Ability to wear a respirator, be comfortable with both heights on top of tanks
• Work in enclosed spaces inside of tanks
