The base hourly range for this role is $19.00-$24.56. Will also be eligible for shift differential.

Prepare and clean fabricated products for coating application and apply coatings. Perform leak testing on steel fabricated parts. Operate sandblast booth and sandblast equipment. Able to operate machine tools and weld shop cutting equipment.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)- Clean and prepare fabricated products for coating application.
- Operate wash tanks and cleaning equipment.
- Use all PPE and follow all safety procedures required for painting.
- Apply various coatings of paint to finished fabricated products as specified.
- Mix standard paint colors and thinners to obtain proper viscosity; adjust as necessary.
- Operate paint spray equipment to apply paint coatings.
- Understand paint mill thickness requirements.
- Maintain spray paint equipment in proper working condition. Replace nozzles and other gun components.
- Flush and clean paint system circulation and filtering lines and components.
- Operate forklift and crane to move products.
- Understand and perform leak testing of all steel fabricated parts that is required.
- Sandblast fabricated parts as needed using blast booth or blast machine.
- Attach painted parts to wooden skids prior to shipping if needed.
- Operate various machine tools when needed.
- Read & interpret blueprints—both imperial and metric standards.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and part drawing/standards.
- Use simple measuring equipment including caliper, tape measure, scales, micrometers to inspect manufactured parts, in order to adherence to drawing tolerances.
- Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance task on machinery.
- Ensure all manufacturing safety and regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times.
- Actively practice a culture of 5S (Sort, Set and Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) in the machine shop.
- Perform final inspection of all parts before moving to inspection.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of painting experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Customer focused work ethic rooted in first-time right production, value addition and sense of urgency.
- Ability to communicate problems based on process experience and personal observations.
- Good initiative, work ethics & ability to work individually and in team settings.
- Strong personal ethics.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability & drive to learn new skills and manufacturing techniques.
- Previous high volume, low pressure (HVLP) industrial spray application experience.
