Job DescriptionGLOTECH, Inc. is seeking a Mechanics / Shipfitters to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. These roles will require working onboard various class U.S. Navy ships.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, modification, repair, and testing of components, materials and equipment.
Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance with specifications, using measuring instruments such as tape measurer, calipers, scales and micrometer.
Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment to join metal parts.
Supports removal and installation of foundations, cabling & cableways, equipment, sheet metal, ventilation systems, housings and a variety of C5I system components and their sub-systems.
Fabricates and assembles new or modified components or assemblies.
Evaluates the form, fit and function of components and equipment for adherence to project objectives.
Participates in special projects as required.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job.
QualificationsHigh school diploma and a minimum of one year related experience.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, written or oral instructions, and other technical documents.
Must have the basic tools of the trade.
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
