Marine Inside Machinists - $5,000 Signing Bonus
- Up to $44/hr
- Chesapeake, VA
Oceaneering is seeking experienced Inside Machinists to join their Marine Services Division in Chesapeake, VA. These machinists will support the manufacturing of complex submarine components in a low-volume, high-precision environment. The ideal candidates are experts in CNC programming, setup, and machining, with a strong background in both manual and CNC operations. This is an opportunity to work on critical projects supporting the U.S. Navy submarine fleet.

- Work with advanced technology and challenging materials
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience machining complex submarine, aerospace, defense, nuclear, or similarly critical components
- Proficiency in programming, reviewing, or editing CNC programs (lathe and mill)
- Ability to perform advanced setups and operate both CNC and manual machine tools independently
- Experience with multi-axis machining operations (e.g., 4-axis or 5-axis mills)
- Ability to read and interpret advanced blueprints, drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
- Strong shop math skills, including trigonometry
- Ability to perform First Article Inspections and resolve dimensional issues
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and accurate documentation
- Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country
- Ability to work in shop/indoor environments with physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 pounds, working in confined spaces, and wearing PPE
- Experience with exotic alloys and challenging machining conditions
- Familiarity with NAVSEA or military specifications
- CAM software experience (Mastercam, Solid Works, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills
