CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift CNC Lathe Machinist to join a manufacturing team in a hands-on role focused on setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC lathes while producing high-quality machined components. The ideal candidate will have experience with both CNC and conventional machining equipment and be comfortable making program adjustments directly at the machine. Responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce parts to blueprint specifications, loading pre-set tooling and machining programs, performing first-article test cuts and dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment, and editing CNC programs with G/M-Code adjustments as needed.

This role also requires adjusting machine settings, speeds, and feeds to optimize performance, machining both steel and aluminum components while maintaining quality standards, and reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing documentation. The machinist will inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments, operate conventional/manual machining equipment such as lathes and mills, provide feedback on tooling, fixtures, jigs, and work-holding solutions to improve efficiency and reduce rework, perform minor machine maintenance including monitoring oil, coolant, filters, and chip removal, and consistently follow all safety, quality, and production requirements.

Monday-Thursday, 4:00PM - 2:30AM Overtime:
Optional overtime available on Fridays and occasionally Saturdays Compensation: $25/hr-$30/hr. w/ 2nd shift differential (10%) Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

• 3+ years of related experience running, setting up, and operating CNC lathes.
• Ability to machine steel and aluminum.
• Experience using precision measuring tools, including:
  Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges
• Basic knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming for machine-side adjustments.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
• Knowledge of both metric and standard measurement systems.
• Ability to solve practical machining problems and make process adjustments as needed.
• Ability to operate and read precise measuring instruments associated with the job.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating instructions, and manufacturing documentation.

• Experience with FANUC CNC control panels.
