Ultrasonic Testing Operator

Plasser American Corporation, a leader in railway construction and maintenance equipment based in Chesapeake, VA, is seeking a skilled Ultrasonic Testing Operator to join our Technical & Maintenance team. This role is vital for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our railway products through sophisticated ultrasonic testing techniques. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of ultrasonic equipment and be adept at interpreting results to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage ultrasonic testing equipment to inspect welds, joints, and components on railway maintenance and construction equipment.
• Analyze and interpret test results to identify defects and assess conformity with specifications.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections and outcomes.
• Collaborate with other technical staff to discuss testing protocols and improvements.
• Follow and enforce strict safety and compliance standards during all testing operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance on ultrasonic testing to other team members.
• Regularly calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on ultrasonic testing devices to ensure operational efficiency.
