Summary
Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production utilizing knowledge of technology, methods and procedures, and capabilities of the current workforce.
Duties & Responsibilities- Direct daily operations in alignment with production goals, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
- Communicate directly with the Production Manager on shift performance, staffing needs, scheduling issues, and operational challenges.
- Assign personnel to meet daily job requirements based on PMT requests, adjusting for availability, priorities, and staffing levels. Coordinate with temp agencies when internal labor is insufficient.
- Collaborate with production personnel and tool control to suggest modifications or improvements to tooling and equipment.
- Mentor and train apprentices, ensuring skill development and adherence to work standards.
- Perform routine walkthroughs of ongoing projects to monitor progress, provide guidance, and support Ship Project Management Teams (PMTs).
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support day-to-day operations, facilitate knowledge-sharing on the floor, and ensure seamless implementation of technical guidance.
- Collaborate with Workforce Development to maintain accurate and timely training records
- Build and maintain relationships with labor support vendors, including temporary staffing agencies.
- Apply motivational strategies to engage team members and enhance performance outcomes.
- Assist in addressing employee concerns and grievances, and escalation unresolved matters to the Production Manager or HR.
- Ensure timely response to Corrective Action Reports (CARs), verify completion of corrective actions, maintain records, and follow up to confirm ongoing compliance.
- Enforce safety policies, conduct safety briefings, and ensure PPE compliance when on the ship.
- 5-7 years of experience with shipboard production, fabrication, installation, and repair.
- 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead position.
- Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening.
- Must be able to obtain a government facility security pass.
