Press Operator Assistant

MCC seeks a Press Operator Assistant to support print production that advances our global relief, development, and peace mission. Working alongside the Press Operator, this role helps set up, feed, and monitor presses; stage paper and materials; and perform basic quality checks to ensure accurate, timely print jobs for donor communications and program resources. The assistant follows strict safety and maintenance routines, keeps work areas clean and organized, and accurately records run data.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press Operator with setup, calibration, and safe operation of printing presses
• Load, feed, and stage paper, ink, and other materials for scheduled print runs
• Monitor press output for print quality, color consistency, and registration accuracy
• Perform basic adjustments and report mechanical issues to the Press Operator or supervisor
• Follow all safety, lockout/tagout, and housekeeping procedures in the pressroom
• Label, stack, and move finished materials to designated areas, updating inventory records
• Read and interpret job tickets to ensure correct specifications and quantities
• Complete basic production logs and quality checklists for each job
• Support routine cleaning and minor maintenance of press equipment and work area
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines that support MCC communications
