Bandsaw Mechanic

Job Description

This Bandsaw Mechanic position is responsible for helping manufacture and finish heavy equipment components made from steel. The person in this role will use bandsaw and cutting machinery cut and prepare metal parts by removing excess material, and rough edges. They will inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards, follow work instructions and drawings, and assist with moving and preparing materials throughout the production process.

The Bandsaw Mechanic will work closely with other production team members to meet manufacturing goals and deadlines while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and following all company safety and quality procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, enjoys hands‑on work, and has experience working with steel, bandsaws, and has worked in a manufacturing setting.

Location:

Chesapeake VA.

Schedule:

Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Overtime:
Optional overtime available on Fridays and occasionally Saturdays

Compensation: $19/hr-$22/hr exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

• Experience operating bandsaw or large machinery used for cutting metal parts
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity working with steel materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic.
• Previous experience in heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing, or fabrication environments.
