Fellow, Community Engagement, Chesapeake
The Fellow, Community Engagement will work closely with Kenneth Turner, Program Director, Community Engagement, Chesapeake and other members of staff to advance the Foundation’s Community Engagement Program, which was created in 2024. Primary tasks range from exploring prospective grantee organizations to the review, analysis, and presentation of funding requests. The Fellow will actively engage with community stakeholders (e.g., nonprofit leaders, community residents, teachers) and funding partners, in consultation with the Program Director, Community Engagement, to manage, shape, and continually update the Community Engagement grants portfolio.
The Fellow will help advance the Foundation’s mission of creating more equitable and livable communities by working with partners in the Chesapeake to address systemic inequities and immediate needs.
The successful candidate has a passion for supporting community needs and nonprofit organizations on issues including but not limited to workforce development, education, immigration, community health, and community justice. The candidate should be able to demonstrate this passion and interest through past experiences (i.e., relevant volunteer experience, professional experience, lived experience).
