Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro experience and EPIC proficiency for a night shift position in Virginia.
Responsibilities
• Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital
• Primary patient populations include neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath
• Patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:3
• Night shifts with options for 3x12 or 4x12 schedules, including every other weekend and holiday coverage as required
• Must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit, and may float to ED or Med Surg to care for ICU holds
• Requires use of EPIC EMR and telemetry monitoring equipment
• Deliver critical care nursing to a diverse population with complex needs including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and post-surgical cases
• Must be comfortable floating and adapting to different units as needed
• Holiday coverage is required during the contract
• A professional environment with strong local and travel nurse support
• Two professional references required for consideration
Requirements
• Active VA or Compact RN license in hand at time of application
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association and NIHSS certification
• Strong neuro experience required, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke
• Proficiency with ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and emergency management
• EPIC proficiency required
• Three years of critical care experience preferred, but strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• No prior license or background hits accepted
• Must provide driver’s license to verify address; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
