RN Staff Development Coordinator

Overview

Chesapeake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Chesapeake is seeking an RN for the Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) position.

• Manage and provide required education to the entire staff and be responsible for employee health.
• Administer and manage Hepatitis B vaccinations and PPD annual checks.
• Apply expert knowledge of basic nursing skills (patient assessment, infection control, IV therapy, medication administration, etc.) and share knowledge with others.
• Collaborate with the HR manager to provide new hire orientation.
• Assess educational needs to ensure ongoing continuing education and adherence to required in-service education for all staff.
• Identify, assess, and implement in-service programs as needed to ensure satisfactory clinical skills and knowledge.
• Serve as Infection Control Nurse and report infection control practices to the Infection Control Officer and Administrator.

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
• Minimum of 2–4 years of nursing experience and clinical training experience.
• Ideal candidate will have the qualifications to teach CNA classes; support to achieve this educational goal will be provided upon hire.
