Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays Within Contract
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Oncology, and Vascular Access unit
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition
- Perform IV starts and maintain vascular access as required by patient care needs
- Manage a patient assignment with a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Float within the unit as needed and adhere to scheduling requirements including weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays
- Complete required pre-start orientation modules prior to first day
- Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license in hand at time of submission – no exceptions
- Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records – no exceptions
- Demonstrated skills in IV starts and telemetry interpretation
- Must pass a pre-start EKG/telemetry written test with a score of 80% or higher (one attempt, no remediation)
- Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Background in Oncology, Medical Surgical, or Vascular Access nursing
- 13-week contract with possibility of extension in a coastal Virginia location minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
- Work in a dynamic, multi-specialty unit offering diverse clinical experience across Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Oncology, and Vascular Access
