Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring strong neuro experience, Epic proficiency, and a VA or Compact RN license in hand.

• Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand at time of consideration — no exceptions
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Strong neuro experience required, including post-neurosurgical care, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, and stroke
• Proficiency with ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia and emergency management
• 3 years of critical care (CC) experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Driver's license required for address verification
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

• 13-week contract in a hospital ICU setting
• Night shift schedule (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), with options for 3x12 or 4x12 shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Patient population includes neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis/MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath cases
• Floating required to the Stepdown Unit, and may also float to ED/Med Surg to care for ICU patients being held
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required within the contract period
• Epic EMR — proficiency required, no exceptions
• Candidates with any license or background hits will not be considered
