Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cath Lab Holding position requiring VA or compact RN license and 2 years of critical care or ED experience.

Details
  • Work in the Cardiovascular Holding unit of a hospital environment
  • Care for patients before and after minimally invasive cardiac procedures
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, varying between 7am-7pm, totaling 40 hours weekly
  • Weekday schedule with no weekends or on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
  • Active VA or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 2 years recent relevant experience in Critical Care (ICU) or Emergency Department required
  • Proficiency in Epic EMR required
  • Experience caring for patients undergoing coronary angioplasty, coronary stent placement, IABP, Impella device management, and EP studies/device implants preferred
  • Critical care exposure with cardiac patients required
  • Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre/Post Procedure Recovery, or Cardiac Rehabilitation strongly preferred
  • Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
  • Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and IV therapy
  • Must pass EKG competency test with 80% or higher score (no remediation available)
  • Must complete 3 hours of pre-start modules
  • Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Current NURSYS report required
Additional Information
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac patients undergoing minimally invasive cardiac interventions
  • Manage cardiac medications and vasoactive drips
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias
  • Located in the Coastal Virginia region near Virginia Beach and Norfolk, offering access to hiking trails and waterways
  • Must work two of the three winter holidays
  • Longer assignment extensions through January 9, 2027 are available but not required
  • Candidates must reside 50 miles or more from the facility to be considered
  • Candidates with any prior license or background check hits will not be considered
  • Facility cannot accommodate PAPR fit testing; history of fit test issues will eliminate candidates from consideration
  • Requested time off must be submitted with application and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
