Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Chesapeake, VA | Acute Care

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 shifts available | Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are required | Travelers are expected to work two of the three winter holidays | Overtime may be available for 4x12 schedules after 48 hours

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume post-surgical unit serving urology and GYN surgical populations
• Manage a patient assignment with a typical ratio of 1:7
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Participate in weekend, floating, and holiday coverage as required per contract

• Minimum of two years of recent relevant Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN experience
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Proficiency in Epic EMR — no exceptions
• Must pass a telemetry/EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start; one attempt is given with no remediation available
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; address verification required prior to offer acceptance

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Experience caring for post-surgical urology and GYN patient populations
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills including interval measurements and complex rhythm identification

• Work in the Coastal Virginia region, conveniently located near Virginia Beach and Norfolk with access to beaches, waterways, and outdoor recreation
• Gain experience in a fast-paced, high-volume post-surgical environment with a supportive clinical team
