# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse – Virginia
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment, every other weekend and every other holiday
Highlights:
- Float pool position rotating through multiple pediatric specialty units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED, and Mother Baby/Postpartum
- Work with a full interdisciplinary support team including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, lift teams, and rapid response teams
- Epic EMR system utilized across all units
- 60 hours of orientation provided to support successful transition
- Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2-1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5
- Up to 40 hours of approved time off available (not available during first two weeks of assignment)
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
- NICU experience required; float pool experience with NICU/PICU strongly preferred
- Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
- Active Virginia RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Dr. Browns Infant-Driven Feeding Certification required (may submit with pending status; certification cost is $185)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BSN degree preferred
- Comfortable caring for patients across all pediatric age groups from neonates through adolescents
- Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
