Job Overview The QA/CM Specialist - Warfighter Solutions Group (WSG) establishes/maintains Group Quality Assurance and Configuration Management policies, procedures, and instructions to assure quality/reliable and conforming products and services IAW with industry, corporate and customer standards and requirements.
Responsibilities Essential
Job Duties:
* Establishes/maintains Quality Assurance policies, procedures, and instructions.
* Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
* Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
* Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
* Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
* Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
* Establishes/maintains configuration management policies, procedures, and instructions.
* Establish, maintain, and audit configuration baselines for complex hardware, assemblies, and integrated software systems.
* Coordinate with Engineering and Configuration Control Board (CCB) to review, assess, and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and deviations.
* Manage and optimize the structure of product Bills of Materials (BOMs), CAD models, and technical data packages.
* Track and record the implementation status of changes across specific product variants, serialized units, and production lots.
* Plan and execute Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) to verify built units match design releases.
* Work closely with design, engineering, supply chain, operations, and QA/QC to ensure repetitive manufacturing performance and smooth change implementation to prevent manufacturing re-work.
Key Responsibilities:
* We expect this employee to be knowledgeable in all aspects of quality assurance and configuration management.
* Reading/interpreting engineering drawings/schematics, specifications, and standards and directives.
* Recording inspection and audit results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into appropriate databases.
* Training the production personnel on QA and CM measures to improve product excellence.
Job Requirements Mandatory:
* Must be a US citizen
* Must have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
* Must have a minimum of 3-5 years' Quality Control/Assurance and Configuration Management familiarity/experience.
* Must have High School diploma.
* Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
* Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test. Preferred:
* AS/BS Engineering discipline.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
Working Conditions:
* Work is generally performed indoors.
* Occasional extended travel may be necessary.
* Work areas include corporate, vendor facilities, U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard vessels and Military bases, and shipyards.
Physical Requirements:
