American GFM Corporation is a leading manufacturer specializing in precision machining and fabrication. We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Inspector to join our team on the day shift. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the quality of our machined parts and weldments, supporting our manufacturing operations, and upholding our reputation for excellence. Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications for machined parts and weldments.
  • Inspect parts accurately and efficiently to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Measure dimensions and tolerances, including run-out, concentricity, flatness, and perpendicularity.
  • Utilize measuring instruments such as height gauges, micrometers, and dial bore gauges.
  • Inspect incoming materials and purchased parts for conformance to purchase orders and specifications.
  • Conduct full inspections of first articles and generate in-process, final inspection, and non-conformance reports as required.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating effective time management and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments to support manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized inspection documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist with setup and qualification of machine tool positioning accuracy and repeatability, with experience in laser measuring systems considered a plus.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience and/or training in a mechanical inspection environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments such as height gauges, micrometers, and dial bore gauges.
  • Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of both Metric and English measuring systems.
  • Experience with laser measuring systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
