Assistant Buyer
Overall responsibility of departmental sales, gross margin, and turnover objectives for the CGX retail organization. Manages all aspects of retail stores and web by creating assortments, influencing product creation, maximizing business, managing product presentation, and driving sales and profitability.
Works under the general supervision of the Buyer or Associate Buyer. Operates independently within CSC/CGX policies and consults with supervisor as needed. Maintains professionalism, teamwork, and excellent customer service. Performance evaluated on operational performance, customer service, collaboration, and leadership.
Attends trade shows, conducts store visits, evaluates merchandise presentation, customer demographics, stock assortments and inventory levels, works closely with Regional Managers and store management to maximize opportunities, sustains vendor partnerships, and performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years general merchandising experience, or one year buying experience in a multi‑store operation with one year general merchandising experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Basic Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
- Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Bachelor’s degree in retail, business administration, or related field.
- Retail buying experience in a multi‑store operation.
- Experience with business analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Merchandise Information System in a multi‑store environment.
- Experience with Merchandise Planning System in a multi‑store environment.
