Sales Clerk – Wine & Spirits (FT)

Location:

Chesapeake, VA, US.

• Welcome customers and maintain product knowledge; assist customers in selecting merchandise.
• React promptly to all customer concerns with a sense of importance.
• Sell merchandise and provide outstanding customer service, including demonstration and explanation of technical features.
• Perform periodic stock counts and participate in inventories.
• Replenish stock and keep merchandise neat and presentable.
• Advise supervisor or department head of customer requests.
• Receive cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, and gift cards; handle change accurately using the cash register.
• Maintain sales records, perform end‑of‑shift balances, turn in sales records, money, stamps, checks, or charge slips, and account for all sales and cash.
• Make price changes for various departments, including markdowns and mark ups, and set company promotions.
• Ensure proper display of promotions to customers through signage and label updates.
• Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention, including awareness of shrinkage and the Alert Line.
• Adhere to all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register, demonstrated by the ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature; and basic math skills evidenced by high school coursework, a GED, or high school diploma.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and to stand for long periods.

• Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
