General Summary
Al locators are responsible for managing the optimal deployment of fashion (non-schematic) merchandise to the stores within their assigned Category(s). The primary goal is to achieve an optimum inventory level within the distribution centers and stores through managing inventory turn disparity across volume groups for each category’s seasons in order to maximize sales and profitability.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
Each Allocator manages the fashion inventory deployment strategy and results for around 700–1,000 SKUs with sales totaling $110–150million annually.
- Monitor fashion inventory held in the DCs to enable timely allocation of seasonal merchandise to meet sales and turn goals.
- Own the assignment of optimal volume grades to stores.
- Collaborate closely with merchandise partners to provide post‑season analytics.
- Work directly with the New Store Team and merchants to determine the seasonal assortment set for new stores for assigned categories.
- Deliver results on assigned cross‑functional projects with significant company impact.
- Represent allocations in cross‑functional weekly meetings.
Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four‑year college or university;
Associate’s Degree with additional experience or training preferred. - Experience:
One (1) or more years of retail store experience and/or merchandise allocation experience desirable.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Capacity to meet stringent deadlines.
- Effective communication skills.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, including development, manipulation, formatting, and sharing spreadsheets for analysis. SQL, Retek, and Microstrategy experience preferred.
