Associate Merchant - Chesapeake, VA

We are looking for a communications‑savvy, detail‑oriented professional with strong spreadsheet and word‑processing skills to join our dynamic team as a DT Associate Merchant. The role is based at Dollar Tree’s corporate office in Chesapeake, VA.

As an Associate Merchant you will support the Category Director and Category Merchants by assisting with all merchandising business processes for all channels. Your day‑to‑day duties include, but are not limited to:

• Developing assortment and product selection strategies for specific categories.
• Conducting analysis and research to support the category strategy, assortment definition, and product development.
• Creating marketing copy and product text for category‑specific promotions.
• Assisting in the development and approval of plan‑o‑guides, display guides, flow guides, and planners.
• Contributing to weekly business reviews and monthly profit‑and‑loss statements.
• Evaluating vendor performance and recommending new supply sources.
• Preparing analysis and reports for vendor meetings, including cost negotiations and strategic sourcing.
• Monitoring vendor relationships and supporting financial and assortment planning activities.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of 3 years in merchandise, buying, or related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and word‑processing tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Creative problem‑solving ability.
• Experience building relationships across teams.

• Retail/discount merchandising experience.

• Competitive base salary ranging from $75,000 to $100,000, plus a 20% bonus opportunity.
