Summary:

* The Analyst, Space Planning is responsible for maintaining and optimizing Family Dollar's planogram-to-store assignment database, ensuring the right assortment is assigned to the right stores based on store traits, clustering strategies, merchandising initiatives, fixture capacity, and operational requirements. These assignments drive replenishment authorization, store-specific planogram materials, fixture ordering, clearance execution, and numerous downstream merchandising processes.
The Analyst partners cross-functionally with Visual Merchandising, Merchandising, Trait Management, Store Operations, and to ensure accurate execution of monthly resets, revisions, renovations, new store openings, and strategic merchandising initiatives. This position also evaluates field requests, analyzes assignment opportunities, develops reporting and scorecards, and serves as a subject matter expert for planogram assignment systems.
** Principal
Duties & Responsibilities:

* + Maintain and optimize planogram-to-store assignments supporting monthly resets, revisions, renovations, new stores, and merchandising initiatives for more than 7,000 Family Dollar locations.
+ Analyze store traits, clustering strategies, fixture capacity, compliance requirements, sales opportunities, and merchandising objectives to determine appropriate planogram assignments. Create and maintain replenishment authorization records that determine store-specific assortments and inventory flow.
+ Maintain and update the enterprise fixture database supporting renovations, new stores, relocations, and special merchandising projects.
+ Partner with Visual Merchandising Managers, Planogram Analysts, Merchandising, Trait Management, Pricing, and IT to support merchandising execution and resolve assignment issues.
+ Review field-requested planogram and fixture assignment changes, evaluate operational impact, determine appropriate resolution, and implement approved changes.
+ Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytical tools using Excel and other reporting systems to support business decision making.
+ Serve as subject matter expert for the Store Planogram Assignment Form, Planogram Material Order System, and assignment database.
+ Support enterprise merchandising initiatives including assortment optimization, clustering strategies, fixture productivity analysis, and special projects.
+ Identify opportunities to improve assignment processes, reporting automation, and data accuracy.
+ Serve as a primary point of contact for store and field inquiries regarding planograms, planogram materials, and material orders. Investigate issues, communicate resolutions, and partner with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely support.

* Minimum Requirements:

Education:

* + Four-year college degree or equivalent experience. Analytic and space planning background a plus.

Experience:

* + 3-5 years of analytical, retail merchandising, space planning, inventory planning, or related experience.
+ Experience supporting large-scale retail operations preferred.
+
Experience with retail clustering, planogram assignments, or replenishment systems preferred.
** _Technical Skills_** **:*
* + Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Power Query preferred)
Microsoft Office Suite
+ Retail space planning software (Blue Yonder Space Planning/Spaceman preferred)
SQL preferred

Experience with merchandising or retail planning systems (Retek or equivalent preferred)
+ Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends

Projected Salary Range: $65,000 - $73,000
