Role and responsibilitiesThe Rental Sales Representative is responsible for promoting Caterpillar equipment and Allied product rental, affecting the rental of all products assigned to the Division s rent-to-rent fleet to all customers and markets in accordance with Carter Machinery Company, Inc. policies. The Rental Sales Representative will assist customers with equipment recommendations and technology advancements that enable greater productivity. They will also ensure all equipment deliveries meet the conditions of the rental agreement and monitor customer satisfaction with products.
Qualifications- Minimum of two years sales experience.
- Experience in closely related industries such as material handling, construction, engineering or equipment distribution is a plus.
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision; able to develop objectives, set priorities, and implement ideas in a timely manner.
- High mechanical aptitude; understands construction phases, job situations, and project conditions to suggest appropriate products to customers.
- Excellent customer satisfaction skills and ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Ability to service existing customers with periodic scheduled visits and prospect potential new customers.
- Good listener with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Innovative and creative; able to evaluate facts quickly and maintain good judgment in decision-making.
- Clean driving record and valid driver s license; capable of towing and operating equipment for demonstration purposes.
- Strong PC skills and ability to self-develop and adapt to changing technology.
- Must have an excellent driving record; frequent travel is required (overnight or out of town via car or airplane).
- Must be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to work shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer demands.

Physical requirements include sitting, talking or hearing; standing; walking; using hands; reaching with hands and arms. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
