Sales Support Specialist at DESMI, Chesapeake, VA

We are looking for a Sales Support Specialist to optimize our sales quote-to-order fulfillment processes and support customers and the sales team throughout the sales and order lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Customer quotations & inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding quotations, orders, and project status, and prepare accurate and timely customer quotations and proposals.
  • Sales cycle & order support: Support Account Managers throughout the sales cycle, review customer purchase orders to ensure alignment with quoted proposals, and process and coordinate customer orders through CPQ, ERP, and CRM systems while monitoring order status and supporting successful execution.
  • Collaboration, reporting & improvement: Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Finance, Operations, and Order Management teams; maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and order information; generate sales reports and support sales metrics tracking; assist with customer visits, trade shows, and sales presentations; and identify opportunities for process and operational efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
  • Hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Have 2–5 years of experience in sales support, inside sales, customer service, order management, or a similar role – ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or technical environment.
  • Be experienced with CRM systems and ERP platforms, and have strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.
  • Be able to analyze customer requirements and prepare accurate quotations.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Collaborate effectively across departments and bring high attention to detail and accuracy.
