THIS IS AN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL POSITION: (Pay dependent upon skills and experience) We are currently seeking an experienced carpenter/handyman that specializes in repairs in both residential and commercial structures following disaster damages of water and fire.
Responsibilities- Complete carpentry tasks at assigned properties throughout the Tidewater area.
- Perform tasks related to carpentry, drywall, paint, finish trim, cabinet installation, demolition and framing, hang case doors and windows, install baseboard and crown molding.
- Demolition and framing.
- Light plumbing and electrical work.
- Framing out new walls, valances, and building structures.
- Detach and reset cabinets and appliances including washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers and ranges.
- Paint and patch drywall.
- Install hardware and perform punch list work as necessary to complete a project.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations when using power tools and throughout restoration activities.
- Utilize customer service skills.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members.
- Maintain a professional/clean appearance.
- Must have years of construction experience to include but not limited to framing, carpentry, rough-ins, mechanical, and finishes.
- Must be willing and able to work in hazardous conditions.
- Strong work ethic and integrity.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a criminal background check – No felonies.
