Position OverviewWe are looking for a skilled and seasoned Carpenter to join our team, playing a crucial role in our reconstruction projects for various clients. As a part of our CAT Team on large-scale commercial reconstruction initiatives, you will benefit from opportunities for growth into Estimator or Project Manager roles. This position is classified as level 4 in our Progressive Carpenter track and involves training less experienced carpenters while overseeing multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities- Anticipate potential project challenges and proactively seek assistance as needed.
- Mentor and train Carpenter Basic and Intermediate team members, sharing valuable industry knowledge.
- Act as the primary contact for project-related inquiries, providing guidance or directing complex questions to the right personnel.
- Construct effective containment solutions to control dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants on-site.
- Build Metal Framed Walls, Acoustical Ceilings, and perform necessary roofing repairs.
- Utilize the appropriate tools to execute flood cutting, salvage materials, and label baseboards and cabinetry.
- Develop expertise in different insulation types, their thickness, and R-values.
- Employ skills and material knowledge related to Trim, Doors, Cabinetry, Insulation, Rough Framing, Acoustical Ceilings, Roofing, and Exterior Siding in daily tasks.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain a meticulous attention to detail across all responsibilities.
- Adhere to BELFOR standards for the protection of client property.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Work efficiently under time constraints to meet project deadlines.
- Be available for night and weekend work as needed, with some travel expected.
- Timely report work hours and materials used.
- Participate in BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training sessions as required.
- Proven experience supervising unskilled labor and Basic and Intermediate Level BELFOR employees, alongside occasional subcontractors, across residential, commercial, multi-family, industrial, and institutional projects.
- Able to address simple project inquiries and discern when to refer more complex questions to qualified staff.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance as needed.
- Provide emergency services when necessary, including securing buildings from further damage.
- Complete additional tasks as required to support team goals.
