Electric Motor & Contracting Company, Inc., founded in 1960, is one of the largest independently owned repair facilities for electrical rotating machinery, pumps, and switch gear in the United States. We are conveniently located in Hampton Roads, Virginia just miles from Virginia Beach and Norfolk.

Job Responsibilities:
- Significant travel to customer sites required (50% average, typically within a 250-mile radius). Sites include, but are not limited to, paper mills, power plants, and water treatment plants.
- Diagnose operational problems in electrical power generation and control systems and equipment
- Use specialized measuring and testing instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, meggers, Advanced Motor Circuit Testers [AWA IV-12, PDMA MCE, Megger ADX 15], etc.
- Make standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
- Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams or specifications
- Installs, repairs, and tests electrical systems, electrical equipment, emergency or standby generation systems, etc.
- Conduct IR Scans of Customer Power and Control Systems.
- Perform Trouble Shooting, Maintenance, and Repair of Electric Motors [AC Induction. AC Synchronous, AC Wound Rotor, DC Shunt Wound, DC Series Wound], and Generators [AC and DC] in the Field.
- Master's Electrician License preferred
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting with a background in AC/DC motors, controls, and generators
- High school degree or equivalent
- Customer service oriented
- Must have excellent driving record
- Must be able to work overtime
- Experience with thermography inspection is a plus
- Ability to lift and carry 40-80lb test equipment and tooling around Industrial Facilities
