The selected Sheet Metal Mechanic Deck Lead candidate will support the PM Ventilation Modernization Team, working closely with our skilled trades teams, on active class surface ships using various processes, mechanical techniques and related tools to remove, install, and upgrade industrial equipment, assisting with alterations and installations for fleet modernization on various contracts.

Weekend and/or overtime hours may be required depending on contract awards and support required as per trade/skill set. Selected candidates will be required to commute to and maintain access to shipyards and military bases located around the Hampton Roads area depending on contract obligations. Selected candidates may be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around the country and abroad when not assigned to a local task.

Perform all work in accordance with established quality and safety procedures. Perform a variety of simple and complicated tasks, both routine and non-routine, including those outside of specialty, related to shipboard maintenance to meet standards on various contracts at company, customer and/or field locations.

Apply expert understanding of production and processes, specialty trades functions and tools to provide technical support, install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify shipboard ventilation, support structure, systems, integrated systems and related equipment at company, customer and/or field locations.
