Field Service Technician

Role Overview

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/technician who performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet that primarily includes aerial work platforms, heavy construction tools, and specialty lines equipment such as large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas equipment. The role requires working in a safety‑focused environment and may involve travel to remote locations.

• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel and heavy construction equipment, including aerial work platforms and specialty line equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Provide mechanic tools of trade and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Work with a team to maintain safe equipment operation and minimize downtime.

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred.
• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty line equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; CDL license may be required in some locations.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Ability to maintain flexibility with changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.

Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more; work indoors and outdoors as required.

Base Pay Range: $24.05 – $33.06 per hour (starting rate may vary based on location, education, training, and experience).
